Design Specification

Column tracks and profiles are made to our unique design in the United Kingdom and are thermally broken to comply with British Standard Regulations as pass BS: Chilt/P08098, passed 11th September 2008 BS 6375 Part 1, 2004, performance of windows and doors - Part 1: Classification for weather tightness and guidance of selection and specification.

The profiles on doors are connected to the tracks by means of a flag, including spacers which slide inside along the tracks. The tracks contains turning mechanisms which automatically tell us where the doors are to open. Doors can only be opened at gates, which are 13mm by 5mm, which makes them extremely secure. The side columns expand by turning a handle, which then in turn pushes the doors togethe to give a weather proof seal (wind and rain).

All doors slide on PTFE (Pure Teflon), and all the weight is at the bottom, it doesn’t hang, there are no wheels, and it slides by kinetic energy. You can only open the doors when they are in the correct position at the gate, which are in the first door opening only and are 13mm wide x 4mm deep. There is a turning mechanism in the top and bottom track, on which the flags fit into. This allows you to open each door as it automatically touches and locks into position. Once open the doors stack neatly side by side with just 5mm between each door, with the profile being 42mm wide. Doors can stack all one side or both sides any combination.

The door locking mechanism can only be accessed from the inside and uses a key situated within handle for security purposes. There is no locking mechanism on the outside. When opening main door turn key and handle, door will automatically spring back to allow you to open and close door.

Compression of columns at each side of the Frameless Glass Curtains is achieved by a 75mm U section of aluminium fixed inside of 2 L-shaped aluminium sections. Inside this there is a locking system which expands and returns as required. The handle, which operates the mechanism is situated only on the inside and also features a lock and key system for security. There is no access from the outside, so the system is fully secure.

The framework is produced from powder coated aluminium, manufactured in the UK and can be supplied in any RAL colour you specify.
